During operations off the U.S. East Coast, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 crew recorded infrared footage of an unidentified object.

The video was later officially released by the Department of Defense. In April 2020, DoD confirmed that the footage was authentic Navy video and described the phenomenon shown as "unidentified."
